Carla Sydney Stone
President
Ms. Carla Sydney Stone is the President of the World Trade Center Delaware, where she is responsible for leading the overall organization mission and strategy, performance, Board governance and public representation. She assumed this position after serving as Executive Director, which she joined in October, 2016. Before coming to the World Trade Center Delaware, Carla Stone was principal of International Development & Technical Assistance, LLC, a firm that works at the intersection of engineering and public health and human capacity building around the world. Previously, she led international technical assistance programs at Delaware Tech and the University of Delaware. And worked in the energy and financial sectors. Carla Stone is a graduate of Columbia University’s (New York) Henry Krumb School of Mines with a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering, Geophysics Option and M. S. degree in Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics with additional training and certificates in water and wastewater operations, safety and international project management. Ms. Stone was honored by the US Small Business Administration with the “Exporter of the Year Award”, the Government of Romania for her work during the avian influenza outbreaks, and by Cankiri Karatekin University, Turkey. She serves on the Export-Import Bank of the US (EXIM) Council on Small Business and EXIM’s Council on Advancing Women in Business as well as the Mid-Atlantic District Export Council. Ms. Stone served on the organizing committee of the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme supported “Benchmarking Telemedicine: Improving Health Security in the Balkans and was the editor of the book of the same name.

Nesrin Cakiroglu
Director of Operations & Training
Ms. Nesrin Cakiroglu oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization and plays a key role in facilitating trade and identifying potential partnerships between Delaware-based and international companies. She is also responsible for designing and implementing training and development programs for staff and interns, with a focus on communications, marketing, and trade information research to enhance both individual and organizational performance.
Ms. Cakiroglu’s additional responsibilities include:
Ms. Cakiroglu earned her master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Wilmington University in 2012, followed by another in Marketing Management in 2013. She also completed her MBA at Wilmington University's College of Business in January 2019.
With over 15 years of experience in the U.S., Ms. Cakiroglu brings a diverse perspective to her work, allowing her to effectively compare and adapt to different business environments.

- Developing and organizing training procedure manuals and materials
- Creating marketing materials to boost organizational performance
- Monitoring the training budget
- Preparing work schedules for interns
Ms. Cakiroglu earned her master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Wilmington University in 2012, followed by another in Marketing Management in 2013. She also completed her MBA at Wilmington University's College of Business in January 2019.

Stephanie DiMartine
Administrative & Membership Services
Steff DiMartine has joined World Trade Center Delaware to provide Administrative and Membership Services to our constituents, partners, and future members in our office. She comes to us after an extensive career as an Event Coordinator and Donor Relations Advocate in the not-for-profit world, a sector where, she says, “she has given a voice to those who don’t have one, coached, and conducted fundraising campaigns. Most recently, she worked for Easterseals and Children & Families First.
Steff is devoted to Special Olympics. Her involvement with the organization goes beyond coaching bocce and basketball. She is president of the NDUSBC Association, and she led a team to raise over $100,000 in the past 5 years with her team for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, and over $55,000 personally.
Numerous organizations have given Steff honors for her work including: the 2021 Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in Delawar; 2023 Jefferson Award for Community Service; the 2024 Philanthropist of the Year from the Association of Fundraising Professionals; and, the 2024 Mitchell Award, among others.

Interns
Harin Lee
Research & Trade Information Intern
Harin Lee is a new Research & Trade Information Intern at the World Trade Center Delaware. She has a background in cultural exchange, strategic planning, and event management. She is committed to promoting inclusive environments and understanding global businesses.
Since beginning her studies at Yonsei University in March 2020, Harin has been majoring in Asian Studies and expects to graduate with her Bachelor’s degree in August 2025. She has an interest in fostering international trade connections and community impact. Harin’s dedication to global engagement deepened through her exchange program at the University of California, Irvine, where she broadened her expertise in East Asian cultures and international affairs.
Harin’s professional experiences include her roles in leadership and strategic management projects such as municipal administration. As a member of the 56th Yonsei University Student Council, she addressed evolving student needs in a post-COVID context by initiating partnerships with local organizations for scholarships and housing assistance. Additionally, Harin contributed her insights to the Seoul Mayoral By-Election Joint Action Plan, proposing policy initiatives for student’s rights. Harin’s commitment to international community-building continued during her time with Cambo Friends in Vietnam, making cultural exchange platforms and fostering a shared appreciation of diverse perspectives and traditions.
Harin is enthusiastic about bridging communities and facilitating meaningful partnerships through international engagement and development.
Research & Trade Information Intern
