World Trade Center Delaware is headquartered in the FinTech Innovation Hub at the University of Delaware STAR Campus, Delaware's most innovative technology campus and one of the most ambitious research and industry campuses in the United States.
Built on 272 acres that once housed the Chrysler Newark assembly plant, STAR Campus today holds roughly one million square feet of research, laboratory, clinical and commercial space and is home to more than thirty high growth companies and institutions working in artificial intelligence, financial technology, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, health and life sciences, clean energy, mobility, agricultural science and advanced materials. Our offices sit in the heart of that ecosystem. Artificial Intelligence
The First State AI Institute operates from the FinTech Innovation Hub, the same building as World Trade Center Delaware. The institute advances an open, human centered approach to artificial intelligence built on transparency, accountability and public benefit, and it sits alongside two of the University's principal AI assets: the Data Science Institute and the AI Center of Excellence. In 2026 the U.S. National Science Foundation awarded the University of Delaware a five year, $21.5 million grant to establish and lead the NSF AI Institute for Human-AI Cooperation, headquartered at the Data Science Institute and delivered with Delaware State University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Florida and Princeton University. That places a national AI research institute, with more than forty academic, industry, government and nonprofit partners, inside Delaware's innovation corridor.

Health Sciences and Clinical Innovation
The Tower at STAR, a ten story building named by USA Today as one of the nation's most impressive university buildings, houses the College of Health Sciences and is designed around prevention and wellness. The University's health clinics at STAR, the Physical Therapy Clinic, the Nurse Managed Primary Care Center and the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, handle more than 30,000 patient visits each year from the surrounding community and region, translating research directly into care.

Financial Technology
Delaware has been a center of gravity for financial and credit services for decades. The six story FinTech Innovation Hub, developed as a partnership of the University, Discover Bank and Delaware Technology Park, extends that position into the technology layer. The building brings together fintech startups, data analytics firms, software developers and financial services companies with faculty and students from the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics and the College of Engineering, plus the business development infrastructure that early stage companies need to scale. For a trade organization, this is the shortest path between a Delaware company with an export ambition and the capital, payments and compliance technology that makes cross border trade work.

Energy, Mobility and Advanced Materials
Bloom Energy manufactures clean fuel cell power technology in a 185,000 square foot facility on campus. The University is the global research and development center for vehicle-to-grid technology, which allows electric vehicles to return energy to the power grid, and Nuvve, the company commercializing that technology, is resident at STAR. The Chemours Discovery Hub, a 312,000 square foot research and innovation facility, houses several hundred research and development scientists working in advanced materials and chemistry. At the northern edge of the campus, the Newark Regional Transportation Center connects STAR directly to Amtrak and SEPTA service on the Northeast Corridor, placing the campus within reach of Philadelphia, New York and Washington.

Life Sciences and Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
The Ammon Pinizzotto Biopharmaceutical Innovation Center is the scientific center of the University's biopharmaceutical initiative and the home of NIIMBL, the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals, one of the Manufacturing USA institutes and a public private consortium spanning universities, companies, community colleges and federal agencies. Adjacent to it, the SABRE Center, Securing American Biomanufacturing Research and Education, is being built as a pilot scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing and workforce training facility supported by federal funding secured by Delaware's congressional delegation. Elsewhere on campus the Gene Editing Institute, BioTek reMEDys, Innovative Precision Health, the Delaware Bioscience Association and the Waters Immerse Delaware Lab extend the life sciences base. This is a manufacturing and export story as much as a research story: biopharmaceuticals are among the highest value goods a small state can put into world markets.

Entrepreneurship and Capital Formation
STAR Campus is a designated Opportunity Zone. Delaware Technology Park, the University's Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships and its Spin In program, the Delaware Small Business Development Center, the APEX Accelerator and Horn Entrepreneurship together form a pipeline that carries an idea from laboratory to licensed company to exporting business. World Trade Center Delaware connects that pipeline to more than 300 World Trade Centers in over 100 countries.
